Edwards Lifesciences is a global leader in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring. They have developed cutting-edge products that can improve the health and well-being of millions of people. To share their knowledge and expertise with health professionals across Europe, they needed a Mobile Clinic Hire style of vehicle that could serve as a training environment for their products.
That’s why they contacted us, after seeing the success of Timmi, our first Mobile Clinic conversion for them. They wanted a second bus that could replicate the same features and functions as Timmi, but with a different design and branding. We were happy to take on the challenge and help them achieve their goals.
We started by selecting an empty, single decker service bus shell from our stock of vehicles awaiting conversion. We chose one of the ex BBC outside broadcast buses, which was a popular European brand of vehicle that could easily handle any mechanical issues throughout Europe. We then proceeded to transform the bus into a Mobile Clinic, with a spacious and comfortable interior, a state-of-the-art display system, and a sleek and modern exterior.
The new Mobile Clinic, named “Eddie”, was ready to hit the road in October 2020. Eddie embarked on a tour of Europe, visiting various cities and hospitals, and meeting with hundreds of health professionals who were interested in learning more about Edwards Lifesciences’ products. Eddie was equipped with the latest innovations in heart valve and hemodynamic monitoring technology, and offered hands-on training and demonstrations to the participants.
The tour was such a huge success that it was extended until December 2023. Eddie travelled to more than 25 countries, reaching thousands of people, and making a positive impact on everyone who saw him. Eddie was more than just a bus; he was a mobile educator for Edwards Lifesciences’ mission of enhancing patient outcomes.
Mobile Clinic Hire supplies all the drivers throughout the entire project duration, throughout the whole of Europe and the UK, supplying a few dedicated drivers who are trained in the processes and functions required.
